what I’m enjoying

It’s been a busy week, but we’re staying in tonight. And I’m just soaking up all sorts of goodness via my eyes and ears. So, what I’m enjoying tonight…

+ Mars Hill Church’s Asaph’s Arrows album. ‘In Christ Alone’ gave me goosebumps the first time I heard it. And I’ll be honest, I sometimes struggle to enjoy “church songs” in non-church settings. But lately I’ve enjoyed being filled by good hymns and worship songs.

+ Free, bright, summery desktop/Twitter/blog backgrounds. I especially love the anemones and little diamond shapes.

Fearless by Max Lucado. I can recite “For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control” quite easily. But like all of life, doing it is harder than just saying it. I’m loving the way this book addresses multiple kinds of fears and anxieties.

+ The little routine Dan and I have finally developed now that I have a full-time job. Dan’s schedule will almost always be different day-to-day, and mine was too when I was still in school. But now, most nights, I can come home, catch up on social media + my favorite blogs, work out with Dan, make + eat dinner, and be flexible for whatever we have planned or want to do for the rest of the evening.  It is most lovely!  I love being spontaneous, but I’m often very thankful for routine, too.

  • hooray for staying in!
we’ve been doing a whole lot more of that this summer… lots of walks and quiet nights at home.
last night i almost read an entire book in one sitting!

    also hooray for routines!
