May I share one of the best podcasts for road trips — The Moth — and a few of my favorite episodes? Here they are.
The Moth — A podcast of the true stories told by regular people at storytelling events held across the country. Anything goes with the topics you’ll hear on the podcast, though the real-life events (which I’m dying to attend) are generally themed, just like This American Life. These have had me laughing, crying, and pondering on a regular basis. They’re short — usually 10 to 20 minutes — so they stay interesting.
Coming to Term: Tear and goosebumps. I absolutely love this, and I love the way it’s told. Such a story worth telling. From The Moth: “A health scare changes a couple’s relationship.”
R2, Where Are You?: Huge fans of this comedian. We love her comedy, and I think I love her comedy even more after hearing this story of her relationship with her step-dad as it morphs from childhood to adulthood. From The Moth: “A comedian must build a new relationship with her stepfather after her mother’s sudden death.”
Shipwrecked: Almost unbelievable. I listened to this on my own, and then listened to it again with Dan. It’s that good. From The Moth: “A partier has to sober up enough to save the day.”
If you don’t prefer podcasts, you could buy a book of some of the best stories — The Moth.
