I set and shared April goals. It was fun. Here’s an update:
Complete the four foster care home studies I’ve been assigned at work. Didn’t happen, but it was really beyond my control. I completed one, and I’m days away from completing another. I also agreed to take on more! I feel like I’m getting back into the swing of things and understanding my new agency and state’s policies.
Finish at least two books. I did! I did! I bailed on One More Thing, but I did finish Twenty Things Adopted Kids Wish Their Adoptive Parents Knew and The Light Between Oceans.
Burn at least 500 calories at least five times a week. This happened, except for this past week, when we hosted S and visited my family in Iowa. Still content with my exercise progress, though!
Track my calories at least five days throughout the month. I think I did two days. And that was good enough. I found that I do have a good grasp on the nutrition of things and the number of calories I’ve consumed, without counting it all exactly.
So, um, May? I have high hopes for May. My goals:
+ Finish The Goldfinch. I bought it after seeing that 1) it won the Pulitzer Prize and 2) the number of holds on it at the library already. It’s over 700 pages so finishing it will be a stretch but doable.
+ Get down to a total of 30 pounds lost since January. It’s been slow going in April. But I’m participating in another round of #alittletoofluffy and something new — The May Challenge. Dan and I had a serious chat today about how we can get back to healthier eating and encourage each other more sincerely. So glad he’s in it with me!
+ Get rid of some more clothes. I’ve just got way too many. And for the first time I can remember, some things are truly starting to get too big. I want to sell them. I might try Threadflip, because I didn’t love my experience with Twice.
+ Go on a few fun, unique dates with Dan. We’ve got some in mind, and I can’t wait. Seems that all the fun, outdoor events are ramping up this month.
