a baby!

My husband said I should blog. So, here’s a short preview of a story I hope to tell in the coming weeks as we transition and celebrate and yes, hurt, too, for our baby’s birth mom.

The past couple weeks β€” no, the past couple months β€” have been filled with prayers and longing and hope. There were undeniable instances of God obviously working and orchestrating. It seemed that as soon as we reached our saddest most frustrated states, He would give us little reasons to sing.

On February 15th we got a call, on February 16th we got on a plane, and on February 17th we met our son. We are overjoyed. AndΒ hurting for his brave birth mom. Β We are excited and hopeful for continued frequent contact with her. We are so glad our son will grow up knowing his first mom. So honored to be given this role as adoptive parents.

We are currently awaiting interstate clearance to travel home. Once home, I promise to share more! He makes all things work together for my good.

  • This is so exciting!! Congrats and I can’t wait to hear more πŸ™‚

I have read your blog quietly for 2 years, actually probably more. I come back each day/ week hoping to see that you have your boys. I was excited to see you had started a domestic adoption. Today I have tears, congratulations from a stranger in Australia. What an amazing feeling it must be to have your baby in your arms xx

    • hi, Dannielle! this is so sweet. I’m glad you said “hi” after two years! thanks for your well wishes!

  • I also have been quietly lurking πŸ™‚ I stumbled upon your blog (not an accident I’m sure!) as we were in the prayerful process of considering adoption. There was much about your writing and about you that resonated with me – I think we could be friends. We are now in the midst of adopting a little girl from China.

Rejoicing with you! Can’t wait to hear more of this beautiful new life in your family.

We had the same thing happen to us: got the call on a Friday night, drove 7 hours the next day with just a car seat and diaper bag, brought him home on Sunday. It’s a whirlwhind but so worth it!!! Enjoy every minute. Congrats!
